ARMED ROBBERY
On July 14, 2012 at 6:15 A.M., officers from the Norton Shores Police Department were dispatched to the Shell gas station, 2628 Henry st, Norton Shores in reference to an armed robbery.
The suspect entered the front door wearing dark clothing, a ski mask over his face and was carrying a dark revolver. The suspect demanding money from the cash register in which an undisclosed amount of money was taken. The male victim (24 yr old, Muskegon Hts resident) was then ordered into the back room where cigarettes were loaded into a back pack.
The clerk fearing for his safety pulled out his own handgun and started firing at the suspect. The clerk fired approximately ten rounds inside of the store. The suspect then fled out of the store without returning fire. It is unknown at this time if the suspect was hit by any of the shots.
The suspect jumped into the passenger’s seat of a newer model black Chevrolet four door which was parked on the north end of the building. There was a second suspect driving the vehicle but no description was obtained. The vehicle left east bound on Sherman Blvd.
The suspect was further described as a black male wearing all dark clothing, Approximately six feet tall, with a thin but muscular build.
