Downtown Road Closure and Power Outage in the Vicinity of New and Pearl. 
Due to an electrical failure, businesses and residences along New Street and Pearl Street are without power. Metuchen Police and Fire are on scene. PSE&G has assessed the situation and a repair crew is being dispatched. The intersection of New and Pearl is closed and will remain closed until repairs are made. The duration of this event could last through the evening hours and possibly longer. Other areas of town may be subject to temporary power interruptions as repairs are made.
