Victor Valley-Sheriff's Homicide investigate homicide on Hwy 138. 
On Sunday, July 6, 2014, at approximately 5:00 A.M., the California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire, and deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff's Station were dispatched to investigate a possible traffic collision on Hwy 138 east of Summit Valley Road. When they arrived on scene they discovered a vehicle on the side of the road with a deceased subject at the vehicle. Specialized investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Homicide Detail responded to investigate.
Detectives positively identified 50-year-old Philip Alexander Smyth as the victim of the homicide.
