Advisory

Alcohol Enforcement scheduled for July 2014 "Summer Heat"

Alcohol Enforcement scheduled for July 2014 "Summer Heat" Enforcement area Liberty Ave, Riverside Dr, and Prairie Ave.

Beloit Police Department will intensify its traffic safety enforcement for the month of July 2014 Beloit Police Officers will be working under an Alcohol Saturation Grant, provided by the State of WI, to combat drunken driving and increase safety belt use. The Beloit Police Department along with WI Department of Transportation has identified the following roadways in the community as ‘at-risk’: Liberty Ave (HWY 81), Riverside Dr. (HWY 51), and Prairie Ave.

The Beloit Police Department is striving to prevent motorists from killing and injuring themselves and others on our roadways. Although we are trying to increase voluntarily compliance with traffic laws—not to write more tickets or make more arrests—we will take enforcement action if voluntary compliance fails. The Beloit Police Department is serious about traffic safety enforcement because far too many needless deaths and serious injuries are due to drunken driving and not wearing safety belts. Our goal is to reduce preventable traffic deaths to zero in Wisconsin because even one preventable traffic fatality is one too many. Please drive safe and have a designated driver.
