NWS Weather Briefing 7-3-2014

The National Hurricane Center continues to issue Advisories on Hurricane Arthur off the Southeast US Coast. Official track forecasts continue to suggest a turn to the northeast toward the Carolina coastline before gradually accelerating northeast off the Mid-Atlantic well-southeast of the Long Island through Friday Night.

There is no specific advisory for our area at this time. However, flash flood threats and severe thunderstorms with damaging winds are expected this afternoon through Friday afternoon.

Do not drive through flooded areas. Should you see a flooded out road ahead, turn around and find another route, even if the water appears to be shallow enough to cross.

Emergency Management will continue to monitor the situation and issue additional bulletins as necessary.
