4th of July Advisory
The Daly City Police Department would like to remind everyone that all fireworks are banned in Daly City. This includes the sale, possession and use of illegal fireworks, as well as "safe and sane" fireworks that are legal in other San Mateo County cities.
In California, possession of illegal fireworks is considered a misdemeanor, which is punishable by a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $1,000, or by imprisonment in a county jail for up to one year. The Daly City Police Department takes this seriously, as every year, thousands of people across the United States are seriously injured and killed in celebratory fireworks. When officers locate the persons using fireworks and firearms, depending on the circumstances, they will either warn, cite or arrest the offenders. The officers will also confiscate the fireworks.
The Daly City Police Department wants you to enjoy your holiday. Please call the non-emergency number at (650) 991-8119 to report
the use of fireworks. In the event of an emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
