TITLE:   Safety for July 4th Celebrations

Personal fireworks are illegal in the communities of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Malibu, Westlake Village and any unincorporated community of Los Angeles County.

To enjoy a safe July 4th holiday weekend, we are reminding all residents and visitors to our communities that personal fireworks are illegal.  All fireworks present a significant threat of fire danger.

The penalties for using fireworks could include fines of:

- $2,500 for a first offense

- $5,000 for a second offense

- $10,000 for a third offense

Our communities within the Malibu/Lost Hills Station jurisdiction are a beautiful place to live.  Many of our communities are surrounded by canyons and hillsides which make our neighborhoods vulnerable to the threat of fire.  Please help us protect your family, home and neighborhood by not using personal fireworks.
