TITLE: LASD-Major Crimes Bureau Investigating Bank Robbery; Hoax Device Used, Norwalk

LOCATION: 12200 Block of South Norwalk Boulevard, Norwalk

SUSPECT: Male Adult

UNIT: Major Crimes Bureau

Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Major Crimes Bureau were investigating the circumstances surrounding a bank robbery that occurred at the “Union Bank” in the 12200 block of South Norwalk Boulevard, Norwalk.

The suspect, a male adult, wearing a plaid shirt and gray hooded sweatshirt, entered the bank and placed a hoax device on a bank teller’s counter. The suspect then handed the bank teller a note which demanded money.

After the bank teller followed the instructions of the note, the suspect left the bank, leaving the hoax device behind.

No suspect vehicle was seen.
