On Friday June 20th at 11:14 pm Morgan Hill Officers responded to Spring Avenue and Monterey Road to investigate a report of gun shots heard in the area. As officers arrived they located two victims, a 25 year old male from Gilroy who suffered gunshot wounds to his upper torso and arm and a 29 year old male from Morgan Hill. Officers provided him with First Aid, until Fire and Paramedics arrived and took over. The victim was later transported to a local trauma center for emergency surgery and care. He remains in serious but stable condition and is expected to survive. The second 29 year old victim from Morgan Hill was able to escape the hail of gun fire without being injured.

During the investigation Officers learned that an argument ensued between two different groups of males just behind Mr. Hong’s Chinese Restaurant, located at 16745 Monterey Road. The two victims attempted to walk away from the altercation, but the two male suspects continued to taunt and yell at the victims. As the victims walked westbound on Spring Avenue, they noticed the two male suspects get into a 4 door grey colored sedan, which was driven by a Hispanic female. The female then drove the vehicle westbound on Spring Avenue. The female brought the vehicle to an abrupt stop, at which point multiple gun shots were seen and heard coming from inside the sedan. All three suspects fled the scene in the sedan and were last seen in the area of Spring Avenue and Del Monte Avenue. The suspects in the case were later identified as Francisco Diaz age 22, Nicolas Young age 21 and Deja Marie Ayala age 22 all out of Gilroy. All three suspects are still outstanding and should be considered armed and dangerous.
