The Franklin Township Police Department would like to take this opportunity to alert contractors in the area of recent thefts. Surrounding jurisdictions have seen an uptick in thefts of heavy construction equipment, specifically backhoes and front end loaders. There have also been thefts of lighter equipment such as power tools and generators. We urge all contractors to ensure that storage containers are locked and secured and all keys are removed from heavy machinery. Additionally notify the police if you see suspicious activity near your work sites.
