HDPS Police and Fire Departments remind residents of fireworks ordinance

The Department of Public Safety Services would like to remind the public that fireworks are illegal outside the times designated surrounding National Holidays in the City of Holland.

Fireworks sometimes create unwanted disturbances and noise rising to level of being a nuisance throughout our neighborhoods. We ask the public to abide by the law and use fireworks only between 8 am-1 am on the DAY PRECEDING, the DAY OF, or the DAY AFTER a National Holiday.

Any fireworks-related fires or injuries should be reported directly to 911. Other fireworks violations may be reported by calling the non-emergency number at (800) 249.0911.
