Attention Rutgers Community:
The New Brunswick City Police Department is investigating a robbery which was reported to have occurred on Monday, June 2, 2014 at approximately 12:00 AM. The incident was reported to have occurred on High Street which is located between Hamilton and Somerset Streets in New Brunswick. In this incident the victim, a Rutgers University student, reported that while walking on High Street; he was approached by the perpetrator who struck him in the back of head causing him to fall to the ground. Following his fall, the perpetrator removed items of value from the victim and fled on High Street towards Somerset Street. There were no weapons displayed by the assailant and the victim was not seriously injured during this incident.
The perpetrator is described as black male approximately 5’11”, medium build, with ear length dreadlocks, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
