The North Aurora Police Department advises you to AVOID Oak St. between Randall & Rt. 31 as well as Adams & State Streets due to the Community Parade between 2pm and 5pm. 

The parade will begin at Clocktower Plaza on the corner of Randall and Oak Streets, proceed east on Oak, south on Adams Street, east on State St., and end at North Aurora Island Park on the riverfront.

Of course, parades require road closures, and if you’re trying to drive through the area between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m., you’re likely to experience traffic delays.  The streets with road closures are:

• Oak Street, between Randall Rd. & Rt. 31
• Rt. 31 between Mooseheart Rd. & State St.
• Adams St. between Oak St. & State St.
• Rt. 56 (State St.) between Rt. 31 & Rt. 25
• Grant St, at Rt. 56 (State St.)

Our advice is to avoid the area or allow extra time for your trip.  If you’re planning on attending the parade, be sure to arrive at your preferred viewing spot early so you don’t get caught in the road closures.
