On the Farm Walk and Talk-- May 29
New Jersey Audubon Society is seeking farmers and landowners willing to help preserve the area’s natural resources through enrollment in federally sponsored Conservation Programs. These voluntary programs compensate individuals who practice conservation on their land and/or the land they lease for farming including forestland.
Come to this free “On the Farm Walk and Talk” with John Parke of NJ Audubon and see how Conservation Programs can provide you with additional income, plant and seed materials, and help you manage your land.
SPONSORED BY THE KNOWLTON TOWNSHIP ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE. Space is limited to 30 people. Registration required. Optional potluck dinner from 5pm-6pm. Please bring a dish to share. Program and farm walk begins at 6pm. Register via email: [email protected]
When: May 29, 2014 ,Thursday evening 6pm-8pm, optional potluck dinner, 5pm, preceding event.
Where: Farm of Rene Mathez, Knowlton Township, 527 Route 94, take driveway to the end.
Who Should Attend: Farmers, landowners with Farmland Assessed properties, woodland landowners with forest greater than 5 acres, hunting clubs, fishing clubs, Knowlton Township residents who are interested in getting paid for conservation
Programs will NOT impact your farmland or woodland assessment – in some cases they can help contribute to your farmland/woodland tax assessment. Programs can be short or long term, you decide. There are no costs associated with applications for program enrollment eligibility.
