***UPDATE***LASD Fatal Traffic Collision involving Bicyclist on Mulholland Highway, Calabasas.

Regarding the December 8, 2013, deputy involved traffic collision on Mulholland Highway in Calabasas, Traffic investigators from the Traffic Services Detail, Risk Management Bureau, Professional Standards Division, of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, conducted an investigation of the traffic collision.

As is protocol for such circumstances, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s (DA) Office, Justice System Integrity Division, on May 15, 2014 for their review and consideration.

LASD Fatal Traffic Collision On Mulholland Highway, Calabasas. Bicyclists Pronounced Dead.

On Sunday, December 8, 2013, at approximately 1:05 P.M., a male adult bicyclist was travelling eastbound in the 22000 block of Mulholland Highway in the city of Calabasas, when he collided with a Sheriff’s patrol vehicle that was travelling in the same direction.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The deputy was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Traffic Services Detail is handling the accident investigation.
