On 5/6/14 at approximately 3:29 p.m., officers of the North Aurora Police Department responded to White Oak Dr. & Whitney Ct. for a suspicious incident.

Upon arrival, officers learned that three juveniles (age 10, 9, & 8) were playing in the front yard when a vehicle stopped in the roadway, and the driver said to them, “hey you guys want to hang out?”  Neither the driver nor the passenger got out of the vehicle or made any attempt to approach the juveniles.  At this time, there was another vehicle behind the stopped car that was honking the horn.  The juveniles ran to the house and summoned an adult.  The vehicle then drove away southbound on White Oak.

The vehicle was described as newer and silver in color and a similar size to a Chevy Caprice.  The driver of the vehicle was described as a white or Hispanic male, older in his 60’s with a gray hair “comb over” and wearing a red or orange flannel type patterned shirt.  The passenger was described as a Hispanic male in his 50’s wearing a baseball cap.

Officers checked the area thoroughly but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Approximately 20 minutes later, officers responded to the area of White Oak Dr. & Messenger Cir. for a report of the same or similar vehicle driving through the area again.  It left the area northbound on White Oak.  Again, officers check the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

The North Aurora Police Department recommends teaching kids not to talk to strangers and to seek a trusted adult if they are approached by a stranger.  Further, we recommend young children play in close proximity to an adult.
