Dear Business Owners/Operators in the Seaport Boulevard/Maple St. Area:

The Redwood City Police Department, Police Activities League (PAL), is sponsoring our annual fundraiser motorcycle “Ride for Kids” event that helps support PAL activities throughout the year. On May 10, 2014, the Ride for Kids event will start at the Redwood City Police Department (1301 Maple Street). Registration begins at 8:30 am, with the ride starting at 10:00 am. Maple St. will be closed to traffic in both directions from Oddstad Dr. to Blomquist St. from 8:00 am to 11:00 am to accommodate the registration and staging of approximately 400 motorcyclists participating in the event.

At staggered intervals between 10:00 am and 11:00 am on May 10, 2014 westbound traffic on Seaport Blvd at Blomquist St. will be stopped intermittently to allow groups of motorcycle riding participants to safely negotiate the intersection heading from southbound Blomquist St. to westbound Seaport Blvd. Traffic stoppages will not last more than five minutes at any given interval and the impact to your business/operations will be minimal.

Please inform your tenants, employees, vendors, contractors, and others who may be impacted by these traffic restrictions on May 10th, 2014.

The Police Department apologizes for any inconvenience, and is grateful for your patience as this wonderful program is provided to the community of Redwood City. Please see the map for details of the street closure and alternate route information. Traffic questions may be directed to 650-780-7100.
