Drugs and Weapons
Location: El Camino Real and Pierce Street
An officer made an enforcement stop for a vehicle code violation. The male driver displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested.

The male passenger was also under the influence of a controlled substance. He had a saw blade with an improvised handle, that allowed it to be used as a dirk or dagger, concealed on his person. He also possessed a shaved key that is used to steal cars. He was arrested.

Inside the car was a BB gun that had been modified to look like a real firearm and a digital scale.
A female passenger was released at the scene.

Animal Cruelty
Location: Wilcox High School
An officer was sent to investigate the killing of several small animals that lived on the Wilcox High School campus in an enclosed garden area.

This case was on the heels of a case (#14-004601) the previous evening where a snack shack and automotive department were vandalized and several chickens were killed at Wilcox High School.

UPDATE: Three juveniles were arrested on April 28 in connection with the animal cruelty and vandalism case at Wilcox High School.

Burglary
Location: 500 Block of Mansion Park Drive
Officers were sent to the Mansion Park Apartments off of Lick Mill Drive to investigate one burglary and three burglary attempts that appear to be related. The suspect(s) fled the scene. Officers conducted a canvas of the area to locate witnesses and evidence.

Burglary
Location: 1900 Block of El Camino Real
Officers responded to the 1900 block of El Camino Real on the report of suspicious activity. Three male suspects were seen rummaging through a jewelry box and briefcase before fleeing the scene. The suspects left the property behind, which was linked to a burglary that occurred on the 2200 block of Monroe Street earlier in the day. The suspects remain at large.

Armed Robbery
Location: 2000 Block of White Oak Drive
Officers responded to the 7-11 on the 2000 block of White Oak Drive on the report of an armed robbery. A masked and gloved male entered the store and brandished a handgun. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash the suspect fled on foot and remains at large.

Warrant Arrest
Location: 2000 Block of White Oak Drive
An officer recognized a male suspect riding his bicycle northbound on White Oak Drive from Poinciana Drive. A Records check revealed the suspect had an outstanding warrant in the amount of $350,000. He was placed under arrest and transported to the County jail.

Prowling
Location: 500 Block of Washington Street
An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of Washington Street on the report of a prowler. According to the reporting party, an unknown male was in an enclosed area of the victim's patio. The suspect matched the description on a prior peeping case (14-004761) in the same area. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.

Suspicious Circumstances
Location: Highway 101 and Brokaw Road
An officer spotted a Honda occupied by two people. After running the license plate, the officer learned the plate was associated with a Dodge. On the suspicion the vehicle may be stolen, the officer followed the vehicle until another unit was available to assist with the stop. The two subjects were detained. It was determined the driver's boyfriend had replaced the Honda’s license plate with one from a Dodge because the Honda was not registered.

Burglary and Drug Possession
Location: 2500 Block of El Camino Real
A male suspect asked to borrow a screw driver from an employee at the Granada Motel on the 2500 block of El Camino Real. The suspect then used the screw driver to steal two flat screen televisions, one lamp, one mirror and one DVD player.

Coincidentally, an officer stopped the suspect when he saw him commit a municipal code violation. The suspect fled from the officer and was arrested without incident a short time later. The suspect was under the influence of a controlled substance and had methamphetamine on his person. He was arrested and transported to the County jail.

The officer who responded to assist when the suspect ran from police recognized the suspect from motel video stealing the items. The stolen property was recovered at the Western Motel.
