#LASD-Narcotics Bureau Seizes More Than 23,000 Marijuana Plants in Large Scale Operation

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Bureau detectives of the Walnut/San Dimas narcotics crew were recently notified by Southern California Edison Company of a possible indoor marijuana grow within a commercial area. Detectives investigated, linked and later executed a multi-location search warrant at four locations in Los Angeles with the assistance of other Narcotics Bureau personnel and Community Oriented Policing Team members. A sophisticated indoor marijuana grow operation was discovered.
The Los Angeles locations were discovered in connection to several smaller operations in the Walnut, San Dimas, and Industry areas.
Approximately 23,725 marijuana plants were seized. Approximately 200-300 pounds of finished product was also seized. The street value of the marijuana seized is valued at approximately $12,608,400 dollars. More than 2.2 million dollars in electrical theft was calculated over a 10 year period of time. Nine male adult suspects were arrested and booked on narcotics charges and theft charges.
This operation was capable of generating $72.6 million dollars in marijuana sales per year.
