Suspect Sought In Shooting Of Man Mowing Lawn.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Division has released surveillance video of a suspect who shot a 56 year old man as he mowed his lawn in the 1000 block of Progreso on Friday, April 18, 2014, in north Harris County.

The victim was mowing his yard, around 8:15 am when a suspect described as a light skinned black male, 6 feet tall wearing black pants and a black shirt exited the passenger side of a gray Chevrolet Malibu or Impala.

The suspect approached the victim and pointed a handgun at him demanding his wallet. When the victim refused the suspect pushed him down to the ground, and then shot him.

The homeowner then was able to fend the suspect off with his lawnmower.

The suspect ran back to the vehicle and fled without the complainant’s wallet.

The homeowner was transported to Ben Taub Hospital for a non-life threating wound.

He has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
