A Strong Armed Robbery Arrest Was Made Last Night - Great Job To Our Midnight Team For Their Work!

Menlo Park Officers have been actively investigating the strong armed robberies that occurred on Thursday morning, April 17th on the 1300 block of Hill Avenue and Saturday evening, April 19th on the corner of Ivy Drive/Almanor Avenue in Menlo Park. Witness statements led to the identification of the probable suspect.

On Monday, April 21, 2014 at 9:45 PM, Officers located the subject who matched the description of the robbery suspect. The subject, a 17 year old male of Menlo Park, was contacted in a vehicle in front of a residence in Menlo Park. He was determined to be on probation for other robberies.

The vehicle was searched and a replica firearm (similar in description of the gun described in the April 19th robbery case) was found along with several cell phones. The cell phones of both the victims from the two robbery cases were also located in the vehicle. A canvass of the side yard of the residence revealed a purse inside a garbage can that belonged to the victim of the April 17th robbery case. The juvenile suspect was arrested and booked into Hillcrest without incident for charges of robbery and assault with a firearm.

The Menlo Park Police Department is asking anyone who might have information about this case, and/or who witnessed these incidents, to call the Menlo Park Police Department at (650) 330-6300 or the Menlo Park Police Anonymous Tip Hotline at (650) 330-6395.
