April 15TH
Petty Theft- 4010 El Cerrito Plaza, AT&T
AT&T store employees report an unknown suspect stole a blue tooth speaker from the business on 04/15 at 1321 hours. The suspect has also been identified in several other thefts from the business.
Armed Robbery – San Pablo Ave. at Blake St.
At approximately 1724 hours, two subjects approached the victim as he was walking. One suspect pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspect fled in a white 2 door Lexus with paper plates driven by a second suspect. The Lexus also has damage to the right front bumper.
The suspects are described as follows:
Suspect #1 is described as a black male adult with dreadlocks, wearing a black shirt and khaki pants.
Suspect #1 (Driver) is described as a Hispanic male adult also wearing khakis.
Simple Battery – Valero gas station11687 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 2039 hours, the suspect got upset when the cashier who would not make change for her. The suspect knocked over several items on the counter display. The clerk noticed the suspect’s car keys on the counter and he took them in order to detain the suspect for police. The suspect grabbed the clerk’s arms and wrestled the keys out of his hand, causing a small cut to the clerk’s right hand. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as a black female adult, 5’4”, 180 lbs., driving a 2007 Pontiac.
Arrest for Stolen Vehicle, Recklessly Evading Arrest, Fighting with Police – San Pablo Ave. / Hill St. An El Cerrito police officer located an occupied stolen 1991 Ford Crown Victoria traveling eastbound on Hill St. from San Pablo Ave. Officers got behind the vehicle and attempted to stop it but the driver, a 35 year old male from San Francisco, fled. The male collided into a fence in a parking lot on San Pablo Ave. at MacDonald Ave. After a short foot pursuit, the male was apprehended by officers. The male began fighting with officers and a Richmond K-9 unit assisted in taking the male into custody. While being walked back to the vehicle, the male fled on foot in handcuffs and was tackled again. Officers sustained minor injuries while taking the suspect into custody. The suspect was transported to Doctor’s Hospital by AMR and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
April 16TH
Arrest for Driving Under the Influence – Central Ave. / Carlson Blvd.
An El Cerrito police officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 24 year old female from Novato, for driving while under the influence of alcohol. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.
April 17TH
Stolen Vehicle Recovery- 2000 block of Junction Ave-
The victims white Toyota Pickup Deluxe, which was reported to the abandoned auto hotline, was determined to be a stolen vehicle from Richmond. The vehicle was recovered by an El Cerrito police officer and the owner was notified.
Auto Burglary - 11760 San Pablo Avenue
Between 2000 hours last night to 0815 hours this morning, an unknown suspect smashed the right front window of a 2006 Honda Element and conducted a ransack of the vehicle’s interior with no loss.
Warrant Arrest - Curry Ave/ Carmel Ave.
At approximately 2001 hours, after being dispatched to a report of a suspicious person in the area, an El Cerrito police officer located and arrested a 64 year old male transient for a no bail burglary warrant. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Arrest for Petty theft with Prior Theft Convictions - 700 block of Kearney St.
An El Cerrito police officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 51 year old female transient, after she was found inside a vehicle rummaging through its contents. The female had been inside at least 2 other vehicles that same day. The female was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Arrest for Simple Battery, Brandishing a Weapon, Providing False Identification and Probation Violation – Denny’s 11344 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 0131 hours, El Cerrito police officers responded to a 911 call from the restaurant and learned that a 24 year old male from El Sobrante had attacked a female server and brandished a knife at co-workers who came to her aid. Officers located the male and he was identified during an infield line up. The male provided his brother’s name during booking and had a no bail warrant for his arrest. The male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Arrest for Drunk in Public and Resisting Arrest – 1500 block of Richmond St.
At 2320 hours, El Cerrito police officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious person in front of a neighbor’s house banging on the door and yelling. Officers located 25 year old male from El Cerrito and a 23 year old female from El Cerrito in front of the home. Both subjects refused to provide their identification and were heavily intoxicated. When officers attempted to detain both subjects they resisted and had to be forcibly arrested. Both subjects were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
