On Saturday, April 19, 2014 at approximately 8:47 PM, officers responded to a
call of a strong arm robbery at the intersection of Ivy Drive and Almanor Avenue
in Menlo Park.
The two suspects approached the victim on bikes and demanded his personal
property. The victim refused to turn over his property and tried to use his cell
phone to call the police. Suspect #1 pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun
from his waistband and struck the victim multiple times causing non-life
threatening injuries. Suspect #2 removed a canister of pepper spray from his
pocket and pointed it at the victim, but did not use it.
The suspects fled the scene on foot with the victim’s cell phone. An extensive
search of the area was conducted, but the suspects were not located. The
victim, a 44 year old Menlo Park resident, suffered non-life threatening injuries
and was treated at the scene.
Suspect #1 was described as a Black Male in his teens. He was described as
being 5’10”, with a thin build, short black hair. He was wearing a baggie black
short sleeve t-shirt and baggie dark jeans. Suspect #1 was last seen riding a
black mountain bicycle.
Suspect #2 was described as a Black Male in his teens. He was described as
being 5’08’’, with a thin build, and short black hair. He was wearing a white
hooded zip-up sweatshirt. The type of bicycle Suspect #2 was riding is unknown.
