4/16/2014

Drug House at 1201 Doblon St. Closed

On today’s date, by order of the Brown County Circuit Court, occupants of 1201 Doblon St. have been removed from this residence and the property is closed until further notice. The property has been declared a public nuisance for drug related activity. This is the fourth time this procedure has been used in Green Bay on a suspected drug house.

History:

The Brown County DTF served a search on this address in March of this year. Their investigation determined that both the upper and lower units were involved in the sales and distribution of illegal drugs.
The owners of the home is Daniel J. Lorenz 7/21/73

About the court order:

Under the court order, all occupants have been removed and the house has been secured. The pad locks have been placed on all exterior doors and the residence is considered closed until further notice. No one is to be on the property without permission of the court. Pursuant to Wisconsin statute 823.114(2) and 823.12, any person breaking and entering or using this building shall be punished by a fine ranging from $200 to $1,000 or by imprisonment from 3 to 6 months, or both.

Once a temporary injunction is signed, the closure is immediate.

This closure is a result of the Green Bay Police Department’s efforts to combat drug activity, protect the citizens of Green Bay, and strengthen neighborhoods by eliminating nuisances.

The closure of the drug house was made possible through the excellent work of the Brown County Drug Task Force, Patrol Officers, Community Police, Crime Analysts and the City Attorney’s office.

Police Officers have gone door to door in the neighborhood notifying neighbors. Residents can be assured that the property will remain closed until the nuisance activity has been abated. We are asking citizens to be vigilant and report and continue reporting suspicious activity to the police.
