The victim who was discovered along the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, City of Industry, suffering from severe burns on April 15, 2014, was pronounced dead earlier today at a local hospital. The investigation will now be assumed by Sheriff’s Homicide detectives.
There is no further information at this time.

***UPDATE***
Arson and Explosives Detail (AED) Detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault of a man on the northbound 605 freeway, just north of the 60 freeway.
Detectives have learned that at approximately 1:49 PM the unidentified male-adult was discovered along the 605 freeway suffering from severe burns to the face and body. The victim appeared to have crawled from a wash, beneath the freeway, to the freeway roadway where he was discovered by passing motorists.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was assaulted prior to being burned. The victim was naked at the time of his discovery and his identity remains unknown at this time.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. His current condition is unknown.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Arson Explosive Detail detectives responded to the northbound 605 freeway, north of the 60 freeway at approximately 3:30 PM to investigate the circumstances of a male adult who had been assaulted.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
There is no further information at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
