Simi Valley Police Arrest 2 Suspects and Recover Stolen Property
On Sunday evening at about 11:45 PM, a Simi Valley Police Department Officer observed a subject driving a U-Haul truck in the area of Sycamore Drive and Racine Street. The Officer recognized the driver, Damian Armstrong, 35 years, and knew that Armstrong was wanted for a felony arrest warrant.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sycamore Drive and SR 118, and Armstrong yielded. As Officers conducted their investigation, several items of property that had been taken in a recent vehicle burglary were recovered, along with a small quantity of methamphetamine.
D. Armstrong and his wife, Joanne Armstrong, 35 years, both Simi Valley residents, were arrested for possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance, both felonies. D. Armstrong was also taken into custody pursuant to the arrest warrant. Both subjects were booked into the Ventura County Main Jail.
The Simi Valley Police Department Detective Unit will be examining several other items of property that were recovered by the Officers to determine if they might be property stolen in other recent vehicle burglaries.
Citizens are reminded to remove visible property and lock their vehicles in order to deter vehicle burglars.
