Advisory

Incident officials are holding a press conference tomorrow, Monday, April 14th at 11:00 A.M. at the Jackson Town Hall.

Incident officials are holding a press conference tomorrow, Monday, April 14th at 11:00 A.M.  at the Jackson Town Hall.  The news conference will be live-streamed at the Town of Jackson’s web site, www.townofjackson.com to discuss the areas currently under evacuation order.  There have been no major changes in Budge Drive situation- hillside continues to move slowly, alternatives are being explored for alternative access and potential emergency stabilization efforts.

The evacuation order remains in place for all residential units in the area as well as Walgreens Commercial Space, Sidewinders, Ignite, and the Wine Shoppe & Spirits.  While officials recognize the inconvenience, residents are strongly encouraged to follow the evacuation order.  Unified Command is continually reviewing the areas under evacuation order for the possibility of downgrading any residential or commercial areas to evacuation advisory areas, but no changes are expected in the near future.  The Red Cross is scheduled to operate a shelter at the Teton County Fair Grounds Exhibition Hall for up to two weeks.  It may close sooner if sheltering needs are no longer needed.

On Monday emergency personnel will escort residents to their home by appointment only.  These appointments can be made through the Jackson Police Department by calling (307) 733-1430.

The Community Resource Center at the Teton County Library will be staffed in the Auditorium Monday from 10 am to 4 pm with representatives of Department of Family Services and the Department of Workforce Services and incident information staff.   Colleen Dubbe from the Department of Workforce Services stated “We’d like to see people sign up now for unemployment, instead of using up their savings or other safety nets before coming into our office.”  Employees of Sidewinders, Ignite, the Wine Shoppe & Spirits should call Joan Fogle at (307) 473-3702 or sign up on-line at https://doe.state.wy.us/InetClaims/default.aspx?action=ccRedirect/

Community members who want to make donations to support residents or workforce impacted by this incident, please contact Community Resource Center at (307) 739-4500.
