If you see a crime occur, provide police dispatch the following features about the suspect.

When you report a crime to police dispatch by telephone, stay on the phone until the dispatcher is completely informed with all the information necessary for them to send the appropriate response officers to the scene of the crime.

Try to be prepared to provide police dispatch with the following features about the suspect:

- Age, race, height, and weight
- Hair color and style, facial hair
- Any noticeable tattoos, scars, glasses
- Clothing description
- Location suspect was last seen
- Vehicle description and direction of travel

Remember, if you wish to remain anonymous you may do so. It is important that a crime be reported to dispatch so that the police may respond appropriately.

You should call 911 to report crimes that are in-progress, medical emergencies, traffic accidents, fires, or any suspicious conduct that could indicate criminal activity.

All calls for an officer to respond, including the reporting of a crime that is not in-progress, should be made to our Dispatch Center by calling the non-emergency phone number at (909) 621-4771. You may also visit the Police Department business office at 4870 Arrow Highway, Montclair.
