Castaic and Val Verde, Zone 2, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information. Snapshot 03/31/2014-04/06/2014.

There was one vehicle burglary reported on Lexington Drive in Val Verde.  The owner reported his rear window smashed and his backpack containing a Gateway laptop was stolen.  A truck driver reported a ladder was taken from his truck while parked at the Pilot Truck Stop.

There were two reported stolen vehicles in Castaic.  A resident on Olympic Street had their car taken without their consent by their son.  The son returned the vehicle later in the day and the owner called the station requesting Deputies.  Responding deputies arrested the son.  The second vehicle was taken from Ridge Top Lane.  The owner said their adult son took the vehicle without her permission.  The son was arrested and the vehicle was returned to the owner.  The owner said her laptop was missing from the vehicle when the son returned.

For those of you who would like the opportunity to meet new station Captain, Roosevelt Johnson, he will be hosting a “Coffee with the Captain” in Castaic.  This event will take place next Tuesday the 15th at “Its a Grind” coffee shop from 10:30 to 12:30.  This event will be a great opportunity to address any Law Enforcement related concerns and issues, or ask any questions you might have to the Captain.  Please let your friends and neighbors know, all residents are welcome.  Coffee will be provided for those that attend. Hope to see you there.

Please remember to close and lock your doors, and never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle.  Minimize your risk and avoid being the victim of a crime of opportunity.  If you see any suspicious activity, call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121 or
9-1-1 in an emergency.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding Zone 2 (Castaic or Val Verde), please feel free to email or call me directly.
