Body Located In Lake Charles Identified

Lowell - The Indiana State Police and the Lake County Coroner’s Office have positively identified the female recovered Sunday, April 6th in Lake Charles, Porter Indiana.

An autopsy was conducted, yesterday, Tuesday, April 8th, 2014, at the Lake County Coroner’s facility and fingerprint comparisons by the Indiana State Police Laboratory confirmed the identification as Teleka Patrick, 30 of Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Patrick was reported missing on Friday, December 6th, 2013 when she failed to report for work in Michigan. She was last seen Thursday evening of December 5th, 2013 when she was dropped off at her car in a parking lot at a medical center in Kalamazoo.

An Indiana State Police trooper found Patrick’s gold 1997 Lexus ES300 abandoned on west bound I-94 just east of the Porter/Burns Harbor exit on the evening of Thursday, December 5, 2013. This exit is adjacent to Lake Charles.

While the autopsy was able to confirm identity, investigation continues to determine the cause of death. Pending toxicology results may provide additional information as to the cause of death.

Family has been notified.
