Weekend Police Blotter April 4-April 7

April 4TH

Public Intoxication- Carrow’s Restaurant Parking Lot 11299 San Pablo Avenue
At 1504 hours, an officer contacted four subjects drinking alcohol near the dumpster behind Carrows Restaurant. The officer arrested two of the subjects, a 52 year old man and a 42 year old man who are both from Richmond for being drunk in public. The officer booked both of the men at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported them to the county jail.

Warrant Arrest and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia- San Pablo Avenue and Hill Street
At 1538 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 48 year old male driver from San Pablo for being in possession of a meth pipe. The officer also arrested the 47 year old male passenger from San Pablo for an outstanding no bail warrant for possession of stolen property. The officer booked both men, cited one of them for being in possession of narcotics paraphernalia and transported the other man to the county jail in Martinez.


Driving Under the Influence of an Alcoholic beverage Carlson Blvd. / Central Avenue
At 2232 hours, an officer arrested a 25 year old Vallejo male for DUI during a traffic stop. The man was booked and released to Hospital at the conclusion of booking due to the toxicity of his extremely high blood alcohol content.


April 5TH

Possession of a Controlled Substance – 11575 San Pablo Avenue
At 0154 hours, an officer arrested a 44 year old, Vallejo male for possession of methamphetamine for sales. He was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Disorderly Conduct – 400 block of Lexington Avenue:
At 0214 hours, officers arrested a 27 year old El Cerrito male for disorderly conduct after he was banging on the door of a residence trying to get in, apparently under the illusion that he knew the people who lived there.

Warrant Arrest- Potrero Avenue and So. 56th Street
At 1012 hours, an officer contacted a bicyclist and arrested the 39 year old transient man for a no bail warrant for vehicle theft. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported to the county jail in Martinez.

Possession of Burglary Tools- Richmond Street and Donal Street
At 1537 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 47 year old man from San Pablo, for being in possession a shaved key. Shaved keys are often used to gain entry and steal vehicles. The officer booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and then released him with a citation.


Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer- Walgreens 11565 San Pablo Avenue
At 1602 hours, officers responded to a report of an unwanted person at Walgreens. Upon arrival, an officer was speaking to a Walgreens employee who related that a homeless man was yelling and threatening customers inside. The man exited the store and confronted the officer and began to yell obscenities towards him. The man aggressively threatened to strike the officer and he was taken into custody. The 67 year old homeless man began to suffer from chest pains and difficulty breathing so he was transported to the hospital for evaluation. The incident will be referred to the district attorney’s office for review and possible prosecution.

April 6TH

Warrant Arrest- San Pablo Avenue and Waldo Lane
At 1259 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a motor scooter riding on the sidewalk of San Pablo Avenue. The driver, a 38 year old woman from San Pablo had an outstanding no bail warrant for theft. The officer booked the woman at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported her to the county jail in Martinez.

Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – 1700 Eastshore Blvd.
At 2318 hours, an officer arrested a man suspected of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. The man was booked and cite released to a friend.
