Saturday April 5, 2014-Missing elderly dementia female/later found.

Montcalm County Sheriff Deputies were notified by the family of an 81 year old female that they were unable to locate her. They advised she was last seen around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday near her home picking up sticks. They reported she lives alone but is a very active person and usually walks around the block daily. However, when they checked on her later in the day they could not locate her and Deputies were called to assist in the search.

An area broadcast was issued to surrounding agencies and the media. K-9 Units from the Sheriff’s Office as well as the Michigan State Police were used in the search. The Michigan State Police Helicopter was also called in but she was not located. The search went on for several hours until approximately 5:00 A.M., Sunday Morning, when a Michigan State Police K-9 Trooper located the missing female on his way home. She was walking alongside the road on Lincoln Lake Road near 8 Mile Road in Kent County. Other than being a bit cold she was in good condition. She was taken to an area Hospital to be checked over and later returned home.

The Michigan State Police K-9 and Aviation Units along with the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Posse and the Greenville Department of Public Safety assisted in the search.
