Special Enforcement Bureau, special weapons team personnel, responded to Carson Street and Norwalk Boulevard, Hawaiian Gardens, where an Attempt Murder suspect had barricaded himself in a vehicle. The armed suspect refused to surrender after a vehicle pursuit by deputies. He is wanted in connection with a shooting in Riverside County.

At approximately 2:45 P.M., Special Enforcement Bureau personnel introduced tear gas into the vehicle in an attempt to have the suspect surrender. The suspect refused to surrender, at which time a K-9 was deployed. The suspect was treated for minor injuries and transported to a local hospital. The suspect will be released to the custody of Riverside County Sheriffs.
