Free trees for Knowlton residents
Knowlton's Environmental Commission has obtained 200 bareroot trees for residents through the NJ Tree Recovery Program, which is designed to replace trees destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
From 9am to noon on Saturday April 12th, residents will be able to pick up silky dogwoods, northern red oaks, pin oak, black gum, or scarlet oak saplings at Tunnel Field. Any remaining trees will be available for pick up at the Knowlton Municipal Building during the following week. The trees, available on a first come, first served basis and limited to five per household, also come with instructions on how to store, care for, and plant them.
