On Tuesday, April 1, 2014, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) Major Crimes Bureau, executed a search warrant on the residence of suspected bank robber Walter Compton, a 50 year-old resident of Palmdale.

The search warrant stemmed from a bank robbery that occurred on March 12, 2014 at approximately 2:30 p.m., at the Union Bank located at 843 W. Lancaster Bl., Lancaster. The suspect, who witnesses described as a male black, approximately 50-60 years old, had walked into the Union Bank and demanded money from a teller. After the teller gave the suspect the money, he exited the bank. Responding LASD Lancaster Station deputies were unable to locate the suspect.

During the search warrant, LASD detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau recovered evidence believed to be related to the crime, and the suspect was arrested. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Antelope Valley Courthouse, 42011 4th St W, Lancaster.
