Information
Location: 2000 Block of Fordham Drive
A home owner on the 2000 block of Fordham Drive heard a loud crash. He found a large tree belonging to the city had split, and a portion of it had fallen across his vehicle parked in the driveway. The tree also hit the roof of the garage. The incident was documented, and a city crew was dispatched to remove the tree.

Drunk
Location: 2900 Block of Butte Street
While on patrol, two officers observed a large amount of smoke coming from a residential area. The officers responded to find a structure fire and heard a loud explosion upon exiting the patrol vehicle. The officers located an individual on the couch in the living room. After banging on the door and yelling, the male subject woke and came to the door. The officers began asking the subject questions but he did not respond. Finally, officers asked if there were other people inside the residence and the subject said his grandmother was inside. Meanwhile, the officers returned to the burning home and determined the house was empty.

The subject displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence and was uncooperative with the officers. The subject was too intoxicated to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to the County jail.

The Santa Clara Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. Upon further investigation, a lit cigarette in the garbage can had ignited the fire.

Robbery
Location: Warburton Avenue and Don Avenue
Two adult males were walking on Warburton Avenue when two Hispanic adult males approached them from behind. One suspect yelled, "Give me money" several times and produced a hand held stun device which he used to stun the victim a couple of times in the chest. The victim fell to the ground and the suspect delivered another stun.

The suspects fled the scene before taking any of the victim’s belongings; one on foot, the other on a bicycle. A perimeter was established however officers and the K-9 were unsuccessful in locating the suspects.

Assault
Location: Winchester Boulevard and Newhall Street
A pedestrian was jaywalking near Winchester Boulevard and Newhall Street. To avoid a collision, an officer stopped in traffic. The male suspect became enraged and challenged the officer. The officer ordered the suspect to stand on the corner and wait to make contact with him. The suspect refused, charged the vehicle and punched the front passenger side window with a closed fist. Additional units responded. The suspect challenged the officers to fight and aggressively contacted one officer with his chest. The suspect was taken into custody and taken to a local hospital via ambulance. After a medical evaluation, the suspect was transported to the County jail. A Records check revealed he was on probation.

Warrant Arrest
Location: 2100 Block of Main Street
While on patrol, an officer identified a person of interest as seen on a flyer in briefing in the area of Main Street and Cabrillo Avenue. He pulled his patrol vehicle alongside the male suspect and confirmed he was the individual a detective was interested in speaking with. The detective arrived at the scene and advised the officer that probable cause existed to arrest the subject for a probation violation. He was placed in handcuffs and transported to the County jail.

Drug Arrest
Location: Washington Street
Officers were dispatched to Washington Street on the report of a suspicious vehicle. The officers contacted two adults, one male and one female. Both were on probation and had multiple felony warrants. A probation search of the vehicle yielded controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and prescription drugs. Both subjects were arrested and transported to County jail.

Warrant Arrest
Location: 2600 Block of El Camino Real
An officer was patrolling the alley behind businesses on the 2600 block of El Camino Real when three suspects (one adult male, one adult female and a juvenile male) were located going through the businesses’ dumpsters. A Records search revealed the female suspect had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for $35,000. During the arrest search, the officer located a small baggie with a controlled substance. She was arrested and transported to the County jail.

Rollover Accident
Location: Stevens Creek Boulevard and Winchester Boulevard
A male suspect was driving his vehicle west bound on Stevens Creek Boulevard when he lost control, struck a curb and rolled his truck onto the side before coming to rest in the parking lot shared by Safeway and Macy’s. The male driver and female passenger were uninjured.

A Records check revealed the driver had a suspended driver’s license and two arrest warrants. The passenger was under the influence of a controlled substance. Both individuals were arrested and transported to the County jail.
