Narrative:
At the conclusion of a month’s long narcotics investigation, Stewart Wesley Reid, Michael Ricketts, Brenda Felix, and Cleofas Leon were arrested for narcotics charges.
For several months, investigators assigned to the Sheriff’ Narcotics Bureau, West County Street Team, have received information from multiple sources that Stewart Reid was selling large quantities of methamphetamine and heroin in Ventura County.
On March 25, investigators were conducting surveillance of Reid’s residence in the 200 block of Leighton Dr, Ventura. A vehicle was seen to arrive and detectives observed what appeared to be a narcotics transaction between the occupants of the vehicle and those from the residence. When the vehicle left, it was stopped by detectives. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Brenda Felix and Cleofas Leon, both from Riverside County. A search of their vehicle revealed approximately $29,000.00 in cash.
A search of Reid’s residence was conducted pursuant to his probation conditions. Investigators contacted Reid and Michael Ricketts who also lived at the location. Investigators located approximately 6 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, 1 ½ pounds of heroin, and approximately $194,000.00 in cash. Investigators believe Reid was responsible for the sales of significant quantities of the methamphetamine and heroin in several Ventura County communities.
The four listed suspects were arrested for the following charges:
Stewart Reid (pictured): Possession of methamphetamine and heroin for sale, and felony warrants. Bail is set at $500,000.00.
Michael Ricketts: Possession of methamphetamine and heroin for sale. Bail is set at $500,000.00.
Brenda Leon: Transportation of methamphetamine and heroin. Bail is set at $500,000.00.
Cleofas Leon: Transportation of methamphetamine and heroin, and felony warrants from Riverside County. Bail is set at $500,000.00.
The Sheriff’s Narcotics Bureau, West County Street Team, is made up of narcotics detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Paula Police Department and the Oxnard Police Department. This team works cooperatively to conduct narcotics investigations in the western portion of Ventura County.
