Slow Down Chula Vista!

Chula Vista - Officers from the Chula Vista Police Department conducted a Primary Collision Factor Operation on Sunday, March 30th, 2014 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM within the City of Chula Vista.

Primary collision factor operations concentrate on speed, aggressive driving, seat belt enforcement, pedestrian violations and other traffic hazards that contribute to injury and fatal collisions.

During this operation, stops were conducted on 73 vehicles. 61 Drivers were cited for speeding, 2 Passengers cited for not wearing a seatbelt, 1 Driver cited for not having his child properly restrained and 1 Driver cited for having illegal window tint. 4 Drivers were cited for having suspended driver’s licenses which resulted in three vehicles being impounded.

This was considered a successful operation. The Chula Vista Police Department is continuing its efforts to keep our community safe by encouraging drivers to follow the rules of the road.

Funding for this operation was provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
