Robbery
Location: 2885 Lakeside Drive
A robbery occurred in the parking lot outside the Towne Suites, bordering the south end of the Embassy Suites parking lot. The three victims were robbed at gunpoint by a Hispanic male who was armed with a black handgun. The victims had come from “Taste” nightclub. The suspect remains at large.

Hit and Run
Location: Great America Parkway and Mission College Boulevard
Units responded to a hit and run accident between a vehicle and a bicyclist at Mission College Boulevard and Great America Parkway. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The victim suffered a severely broken ankle and a fractured hip, but was in non-life threatening stable condition at a local hospital.
Approximately an hour after the accident, the suspect showed up at the Santa Clara Police Department with his family to turn himself in. He was not intoxicated and claimed he panicked. He was arrested for felony Hit and Run.

Driving Under the Influence
Location: Pomeroy Avenue and Calabazas Boulevard
An officer stopped a vehicle for a non-operational front driver side headlight. The female driver displayed several objective symptoms of being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. She was arrested and transported to the County Jail.

Prowler
Location: 2400 Block of Karen Drive
An officer was dispatched to investigate a male in the back yard area shining a flashlight into the windows of the first floor units. Officers located the subject a short distance away. He was arrested and transported to the County Jail.

City Ordinance
Location: De La Cruz Boulevard and Coleman Avenue
SCPD’s Nuisance Suppression Unit contacted a male suspect for unlawfully camping within the median of the De La Cruz Blvd / Coleman Avenue interchange. The suspect had established a large camp on city property, in violation of Santa Clara Municipal Code 12.50.010(a).
This was the suspect’s second misdemeanor citation for the same violation, at the same location (SCPD Case # 14-00843). A Records check revealed the suspect also had an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and transported to the County jail.

Burglary
Location: 3100 Block of El Camino Real
An unknown suspect smashed the front glass door of a commercial business on the 3100 block of El Camino Real. The suspect stole cash and California State Lottery Scratchers. The suspect remains at large.

Theft
Location: 2400 Block of The Alameda
An unknown suspect gained entry to the victim's vehicle and stole property. The vehicle was parked in the alley way near the 2400 block of The Alameda. The total amount taken was estimated at $3,450. The suspect is unknown and still at large.

NOTE: Approximately 1,500 to 2,000 bicyclists rode through Santa Clara, between 8pm-Midnight, as part of an event hosted by San Jose Bike Party (SJBP). SCPD monitored the safety of the riders. SJBP utilized parking lots on the 2800 block of Lafayette Street for the riders to purchase food, listen to music and rest. Officers were deployed to the rest station on the report of participants setting off fireworks.

Warrant Arrest
Location: Scott Boulevard and Monroe Street
On February 26, 2014, an unidentified black male adult riding a distinctive blue bicycle with white wheels, stole a package from the victim's front door (Case Number: 14-002204). Video surveillance footage captured the theft and the Detectives Bureau created a flyer with a still image which was distributed in Patrol briefings.
On March 22, an officer observed an individual who matched the description of the package theft on a black bicycle with white wheels. The officer stopped the suspect. A Records check revealed he had multiple arrest warrants. He was arrested and transported to County jail. The suspect had recently spray painted the bike black.
