March 21st

Drunk in Public Arrest – Norvell Ave. at Gladys Ave.
At approximately 0926 hours, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 54 year old male from El Cerrito stumbling in the middle of the street highly intoxicated. The male was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Robbery - Central Ave. / Clayton Ave.
At approximately 2035 hours, the victim was walking from the BART station. When she started walking on Clayton Avenue, two suspects approached her from behind. One suspect grabbed her purse and pulled her to the ground and then gained control of the purse. The suspect then fled towards the BART station. The other suspect acted as a lookout. The first suspect was described as a black male adult, 20 years old, 5’07” with a thin build, a white hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The second suspect was described a black male, 20 years old, approximately 5’10” tall with a dark clothing.

Disorderly Conduct and Probation Violation: Safeway 11450 San Pablo Ave: At approximately 2211 hours, Safeway security called to report an unwanted subject. Responding officers located the subject, a 52 year old transient in the area. The subject’s probation status did not allow them to be at Safeway and the man was found to be intoxicated. He was booked into the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s office detention facility in Martinez.

Driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage – Central Avenue / Yosemite Avenue: At approximately 2301 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 66 year old male, Richmond resident was determined to be driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was booked and released on a citation.

March 22nd

Driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage – Central Avenue / Yosemite Avenue: At approximately 0115 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 38 year old male, Berkeley resident was determined to be driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was booked and released on a citation.

Armed Robbery – BART Path/Lincoln Ave.
At approximately 0800 hours, while the victim was walking on the BART path near Lincoln Ave., he was approached by two male subjects. The first subject pointed a black handgun at the victim’s head while the second suspect searched through the victim’s pockets. The victim did not have any property on his person, so the suspects did not take anything from him. The suspects ran southbound on the BART path towards the Plaza BART station. El Cerrito police officers were dispatched 10-15 minutes after the robbery occurred, because the victim had to walk back home to the 500 block of Clayton Ave. to call 911.

The suspects were described as two black male adults in their 20’s, both approximately 5’5”. Both suspects were wearing dark grey hooded sweatshirts and one of the suspects was armed with a black handgun.

Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia Arrest - 11555 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 1614 hours, during a pedestrian stop, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 38 year old male from Richmond for possession of .84 grams of crystal methamphetamines and a glass smoking pipe. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Petty Theft / False Identification: Safeway 11450 San Pablo Avenue: At approximately 1640 hours, Officer Wong accepted the citizen’s arrest of 23 year old male Richmond resident. The male was apprehended by store security stealing a hair dye product. The man was not honest about his name and swore his name was Houston but couldn’t remember how to spell it. He was booked and released on a citation after fingerprints confirmed his identity.

March 23rd

Driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage – Potrero Avenue / S. 52nd Street: At approximately 0002 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 56 year old, male Richmond resident was determined to be driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and driving on a suspended license. He was booked and released on a citation.

Driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage – Potrero Avenue / S. 53rd Street: At approximately 0122 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 27 year old, female Richmond resident was determined to be driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. She was booked and released on a citation.

Possession of Burglary Tools, Controlled Substance, Stolen Property and a Probation Violation – 1800 block of Elm St.
At approximately 0959 hours, El Cerrito police officer’s were dispatched to the area where two suspicious subjects, carrying backpacks and luggage’s, were seen loitering. An El Cerrito police officer stopped a 34 year old male from Alameda and a 26 year old female from Richmond in the area. The male was on probation for Theft out of Alameda County and was in possession of shaved keys, keys belonging to the USPS, and multiple car keys. The was in possession of burglary tools and a small amount of crystal methamphetamines. Both suspects were arrested and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. The male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility and the female was released.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave. at Moeser Ln.
At approximately 1047 hours, during a pedestrian contact, an El Cerrito police officer arrested a 28 year old male from Hercules for a misdemeanor theft warrant and a felony drug warrant out of Contra Costa County. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Stolen Vehicle Report – Key Blvd. at Cutting Blvd.
An unknown suspect stole the victims white 1991 Honda Accord sometime between March 20th at 2100 hours to March 22nd at 2100 hours.

Possession of a loaded and concealed firearm: 11965 San Pablo Avenue: At 2056 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During the investigation of the stop, a loaded and concealed firearm was located in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, a 30 year old, San Francisco male resident was found in possession of the weapon. The man was booked, issued a citation and released

Driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage – Potrero Avenue / S.56th Street: At approximately 2352 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 29 year old, female Vallejo resident was determined to be driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. She was booked and released on a citation.
