March 18th

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Stolen Credit Cards- S.55th St. at Cypress Ave.
At 1553 hours, officers arrested a 42 year-old man from Santa Rosa on an outstanding warrant during a traffic enforcement stop. Officers also discovered the man was in possession of several counterfeit driver licenses and credit cards. The man was subsequently booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Public Intoxication – 6060 Central Ave.
At approximately 1352 hours, an officer arrested a 52-year-old Oakland woman after she was found to be severely intoxicated and yelling at customers in the business. The woman was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Vehicle theft – 10650 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 1411 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s gray 1994 Honda Accord in front of the business.

Driving under the influence, Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of paraphernalia – S. 56th St. / Bayview Ave.
At approximately 1845 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver, a 27-year-old Exeter man for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Public intoxication – 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 0107 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian enforcement stop and arrested a 36-year-old transient male for public intoxication. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential burglary, Possession of burglary tools, Probation violation – 6500 block of Gladys Ave. Officers were dispatched for a black male adult in his 20’s wearing a gray coat and gray pants walking down the hall of a secure apartment building. The night clerk on duty asked the suspect what he was doing in the building and he just muttered that he was looking for a bathroom. The night clerk called police but lost sight of the man. Approximately 30 minutes later, officers were dispatched to the 6500 block of Schmidt Ln. after a resident confronted a subject in the parking lot of an apartment complex trying to break into vehicles. The description provided matched that given of the man earlier. Officers arrived and detained the man. A search of his person produced several different burglary tools.

The investigation revealed that the man entered the apartment complex through a sliding glass door to one of the apartments. After leaving the complex, the man then traveled down the block to another complex and attempted to break into several vehicles in the parking lot. A 21-year-old transient man was arrested for burglary and possession of burglary tools. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department at which time it was discovered that he was on probation for theft related offenses. After booking, the man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.


March 19th

Warrant Arrest- 3400 Block of Belmont Ave.
At 1316 hours, officers arrested a 53 year-old Richmond woman on a no-cite arrest warrant during a pedestrian contact.

Miscellaneous Juvenile – San Pablo Ave. / Potrero Ave.
At approximately 0140 hours, officers located a heavily intoxicated 16-year-old Berkeley girl. The girl had fallen to the ground and struck her face on the pavement. The girl was transported to the hospital and her parents were notified.

Commercial burglary – 6000 E.C. Plaza.
At approximately 0505 hours, officers were dispatched to an audible alarm and a broken front window at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Officers arrived to find a large hole in a lower window. Officers searched the building but did not locate a suspect. A review of the video showed two suspects loitering in front of the business before breaking into the store. The first suspect is a white male adult between the ages of 20 and 30, wearing dark clothing. The second suspect is an unknown race female, small build, wearing dark clothing.

March 20th

Missing Person – Plaza BART station. Officers were dispatched to the area of Plaza BART after the callers boyfriend never showed up at the station to be picked up. Attempts to contact the man via telephone met with negative results due to the phone being turned off. The investigation revealed that the 27-year-old El Cerrito man went drinking with co-workers after work and fell asleep on BART which caused him to reach the end of the line in Richmond then depart again and end up in Fremont. The man’s girlfriend picked him up at the Fremont station.
