SUBJECT OF RELEASE: Personal Injury Accident
DATE AND TIME: Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 1:43 p.m.
LOCATION: West county Line Road near Gates Road
On Saturday, March 22, 2014 at approximately 1:43 PM, the Montcalm County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two car crash on West County Line Road near Gates Road in Reynolds Township.
Deputies determined that a 1998 Ford Taurus driven by a twenty year old Newaygo woman was traveling northbound on West County Line Road when she lost control of her vehicle. The Ford crossed the center line and into the path of a southbound 2000 Ford F-150 driven by a twenty-one year old Rockford man.
The female, who was also thirty-two weeks pregnant, was transported from the scene by Montcalm County EMS to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids. She remained hospitalized overnight for observations and was released from the hospital the following day. The Rockford man and his passenger, a twenty year old man from Grand Rapids, were not injured in the crash.
Slushy road conditions were a contributing factor in the crash. All parties were wearing seatbelts. The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office, in addition to Montcalm County EMS, was assisted by the Howard City Fire Department.
