MADD Califormia, along with Calif OTS and LA Co. AVOID 100 award Monterey Park Police Officers Castellano and Sanchez for DUI enforcement.

On March 20, 2014, MADD California, in conjunction with the California Office of Traffic Safety, and the Los Angeles County AVOID THE 100 Campaign, presented awards to law enforcement officers at the Annual Los Angeles County Law Enforcement Recognition and DUI Training Seminar at the Skirball Cultural Center.

Among those honored, the Monterey Police Department had two officers, Officer David Castellano and Officer Jeff Sanchez, who were recognized for the great impact they made on impaired driving in the City of Monterey Park. Collectively, these two officers arrested 58 individuals for driving under the influence in our city during the 2013 calendar year.

MADD California provides support services to law enforcement through assistance with educational awareness materials at sobriety checkpoints, public education about the devastating crime of drunk driving, and recognition events to encourage and thank officers for removing drunk drivers from the roadways to keep law abiding citizens safe.

The Monterey Park Police Department would like to thank Officer Castellano and Officer Sanchez for their dedication to keeping our community safe from drunk driving.
