Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deputy-involved shooting that occurred at approximately 4:15 PM, Sunday, March 16, 2014, in the 43200 block of 16th Street West, Lancaster.

Detectives learned that deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff's Station responded to the location regarding several 9-1-1 calls of a person with a gun and a gunshot victim. The male adult suspect fired numerous rounds from a firearm towards the first two responding deputies who arrived on scene, and a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

The suspect was hit one time by gunfire. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a nonlife-threatening injury.

Detectives have determined that the suspect had been involved in a domestic dispute. The suspect reportedly fired his weapon during the altercation, but no one was hit or injured as a result. The firearm used by the suspect was recovered at the location.

The investigation is on-going. There is no further information at this time.
