Police Arrest and Charge Male in South Anchorage Stabbing
On Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 6:36 p.m. a female citizen called Dispatch to report she had been stabbed by her husband, 73-year-old John Marshall Bagley. It was reported to police that the female and her husband got in a verbal altercation inside their residence located on the 13000 block of Back Road. As the female attempted to leave the residence, her husband followed her outside. The female slipped and fell on ice and Bagley then proceeded to stab her as she was lying on the ground. A neighbor who was walking by the residence witnessed the stabbing and fired a round into the air to get the attention of Bagley. As a result of the intervention, Bagley ceased the assault and followed the instruction of the neighbor until police arrived moments later. Police took Bagley into custody without incident. The female was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. She remains at the hospital in critical but stable condition. Bagley was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
