On Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 9:20 pm, officers of the Santa Clara Police Department responded to a robbery at the Aquamaids Bingo Hall, 1600 Martin Avenue. Upon arrival, officers learned that two suspects walked into the bingo hall during a session of bingo. One of the suspects, who was armed with a handgun, approached an employee working at the bingo hall and demanded money. The employee handed over money to the suspect. The suspect then fled. Officers responding to the call stopped two vehicles in connection with the robbery. Officers found evidence inside each vehicle linking them to the robbery at the bingo hall. Daniels, Delgado, Markus and Egu were arrested and taken to the Santa Clara Police Department.

Police Detectives were called in to assist with the investigation. The Detectives identified a fifth suspect, Christopher Jones, who also took part in the robbery. On March 6, 2014 at about 7:20 am, the Santa Clara Police Department Special Response Team served a search warrant at Jones’ residence in San Jose. Jones was found inside the residence with a loaded handgun and was arrested without incident. Detectives continued their investigation and learned that the same suspects were also responsible for a previous robbery at Aquamaids on February 19, 2014. In that robbery, a 78-year-old female was struck on her head with a handgun and robbed of her money. Detectives are also investigating the possibility that these suspects could be responsible for other robberies.

All suspects were booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on robbery and conspiracy charges. Anyone with information, please call Sergeant Hoesing at (408) 615-4814.
