Burglary suspects arrested for several burglaries that occurred in Menlo Park overnight

On March 3rd, 2014, at approximately 7:47 am, Menlo Park Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Hedge Road in Menlo Park on a report of a residential burglary of an occupied residence that had occurred sometime overnight. While on scene and investigating that burglary, the Menlo Park Police Department received additional reports of vehicle burglaries, thefts from vehicles and attempted residential burglaries in and around the same area. The Menlo Park Police Department then received several calls of two suspicious subjects in the area of Bay Road and Harmon Drive involved in a heated verbal argument. A search of that area located one of the described subjects hiding behind a parked vehicle on Lorelei Lane and the other described subject running from the area of Marsh Road and Bay Road. Both subjects showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance and were detained.

Through the course of the officers’ investigation, it was determined that both of the subjects were involved in several, if not all of the reported burglaries and thefts. An extensive search of the residential neighborhood located a large amount of stolen property hidden in the rear yard of a residence. Some of that recovered property was property stolen during the reported burglaries and thefts that had occurred overnight. Officers are continuing their efforts in identifying and contacting the owners of the additional recovered property as well as determining what other crimes were committed.

Jessica Lawler (8/19/91) of San Jose, was ultimately booked into the San Mateo County Jail on a Parole Hold (3056 PC) and Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance (11550 H&S).

Fabian Hagnere (12/13/84) of Redwood City, was ultimately booked into the San Mateo County Jail for Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance (11550 H&S), Burglary (460 PC), Attempted Burglary (664/460 PC), and Conspiracy (182 PC).

Additional charges may be filed upon the completion of this investigation.
