Weeken Crime Blotter Feb 14th - 17th

February 14th

Recovered Stolen Vehicle- 200 block of So. 18th Street
A representative from a GPS guided stolen vehicle locator system phoned dispatch to report the location of a stolen Ford Ranger taken from a residential burglary in El Cerrito the previous day. Two officers travelled to the location and processed the vehicle for evidence prior to releasing it to the owner at the scene.

Warrant Arrest- Starbucks 11861 block of San Pablo Avenue
At 1530 hours, an officer responded to a report of an unwanted person loitering at Starbucks and bothering customers. The officer arrested the 35 year old man from Berkeley for an outstanding no bail warrant for a restraining order violation. The officer booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported him to the county jail in Martinez.

Disorderly Conduct (Public Intoxication)- 670 EC Plaza: At 2109 hours, an officer arrested a 52 year old Richmond man for public intoxication. The man had been harassing employees of the store and responding officers discovered he was intoxicated. He was booked into the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.


February 15th

Driving under the Influence of Alcoholic Beverage- Carlson Blvd./San Diego Street: An officer arrested a 25 year old Richmond woman for driving a vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. She was booked and released on a citation.

Methamphetamine Possession- 11720 San Pablo Avenue: an officer arrested a 45 year old Hercules resident during a pedestrian stop. During the investigation, the officer discovered the man was in possession of approximately ¾ grams of methamphetamine during a pedestrian stop. He was booked and released.

Warrant Arrest- San Pablo Avenue and Knott Avenue
At 0949 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 26 year old male driver and 21 year old female passenger, both from Richmond, for outstanding warrants. The officer booked them both at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported them to the county jail in Martinez.

Domestic Battery- Freeway Motel 11645 San Pablo Avenue
At 1120 hours, officers responded to a report of a domestic battery incident at the hotel. An officer arrested a 23 year old man for battering his fiancé during an argument. The officer booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported him to the county jail in Martinez.

Warrant Arrest- 11299 San Pablo Avenue
At 1653hours, an officer was investigating an unoccupied suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the shopping center. During the investigation, the owner of the vehicle approached the officer and asked if everything was okay. The officer conducted a records check and arrested the 41 year old man from El Sobrante for an outstanding warrant. The officer booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported him to the county jail in Martinez.

Auto Burglary- 200 block of Behrens Street
At 1711 hours, an officer responded to a report of an auto burglary. The officer determined that an unknown suspect entered the unlocked vehicle and attempted to pry out the radio from the dash. The suspect was unsuccessful and fled after conducting a light ransack of the vehicle.


February 16th
Driving under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage - San Pablo Avenue / El Dorado St:
At approximately 0157 hours, an officer arrested a 27 year old Richmond resident for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage during a traffic stop. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a notice to appear.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon / Disorderly Conduct: - 9937 San Pablo Avenue:
At 0247 hours, officers responded to the report of a fight behind the Blue Moon Saloon. Officers found an extremely intoxicated 32 year old woman from Oakland. The woman was not wearing pants or shoes. An investigation revealed that the woman’s boyfriend was involved in a physical altercation with another man and during the fight the boyfiend picked up a parking lot stop and tried to throw it at the man. The man was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Battery- 1700 block of Liberty Street
At 0948 hours, officers responded to a report of man who was assaulted by another man while walking along the sidewalk. An officer located the 35 year old male suspect near the intersection of Cutting Boulevard and Key Boulevard. The victim positively identified the suspect and the officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of the suspect. The officer booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported him to the county jail in Martinez.

Domestic Battery- 6700 block of Willow Street
At 1529 hours, a resident phoned police to report a man and a woman in a physical fight inside of vehicle parked on the street. Officers contacted the female victim however her boyfriend fled on foot prior to officers arrival. The female victim refused medical treatment at the scene and the 43 year old transient male suspect was not located.

Shoplifting- Safeway 11450 San Pablo Avenue
At 1609 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 45 year old man from Richmond for stealing shampoo and $100 worth of alcohol. The officer booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and because he is currently on probation for felony theft the officer transported him to the county jail in Martinez.

Warrant Arrest – Central Avenue / Belmont Avenue
At 2241 hours, an officer who was on a traffic stop noticed a passerby that he knew had a warrant. The officer completed the traffic stop and then went to detain the subject. The wanted subject was arrested without incident, booked and released on his signed promise to appear.

February 17th

Commercial Burglary 6520 Manila Avenue:
In between 1200-1800 hours on 02-14-2014, an unidentified suspect pried open the laundry room door and fled without taking anything.

Attempted Grand Theft from Person- 4020 EC Plaza: At approximately 1930 hours a tall black male adult wearing a striped shirt walked into a nail salon. He attempted to grab the purse of a woman who seated having her toenails done. A brief unsuccessful back - forth tug of war ensued and the suspect fled, empty handed to an awaiting older blue four door Toyota (possibly a Camry.)

Disorderly Conduct - Waldo Avenue / San Pablo Avenue At approximately 2159 hours, an officer observed two males urinating in public. One of the men, one a 49 year old from Florida and the other a man a 50 year old were found to be heavily intoxication. Both were transported to the Martinez detention facility.

Wanted Parolee arrested: Cutting Blvd. / Key Blvd: At 2205 hours, an officer arrested a parolee absconder during a traffic stop. The absconder, a 28 year old man was booked into the county jail.
