The Spotswood Office of Emergency Management is monitoring the approaching Winter Storm that is forecast to impact our area late tonight and Thursday. Forecasts are calling for 8-10 inches of snow along with gusty winds.

Due to this forecast, all schools in Spotswood will be closed on Thursday 2/13/2014. Mayor Poliseno has closed the Municipal Offices as well in anticipation of this winter storm. DPW will be dedicated to snow removal and therefore all garbage collection for Thursday 2/13/2014 has been postponed until Friday 2/14/2014 weather permitting.

The Spotswood Police Department reminds residents that vehicles should be removed from the roadways to allow for snow removal. This is especially important on the designated Snow Emergency Streets, and this mandate will be enforced by the police department.

Motorists are urged to limit travel and stay off of the roads as driving is expected to be hazardous with this storm system. In the event of power outage in town, please contact the police department only for EMERGENCIES such as a live power line down. The police department does not have any control on when the power will be restored and the emergency communication officers do not have access to the time frames or durations on power outages.
