Winter Storm Warning

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST THURSDAY...

* LOCATIONS...THE MARYLAND COUNTIES OF QUEEN ANNE`S, TALBOT AND CAROLINE. THE DELAWARE COUNTIES OF KENT AND THE INLAND PORTION OF SUSSEX. THE NEW JERSEY COUNTIES OF CUMBERLAND, THE INLAND PORTION OF ATLANTIC, SOUTHEASTERN BURLINGTON AND THE INLAND PORTION OF OCEAN.

* HAZARD TYPES...SNOW AND SLEET.

* ACCUMULATIONS...2 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET.

* WINDS...EAST TO NORTHEAST AT 5 TO 15 MPH TONIGHT, NORTHEAST TO NORTH AT 10 TO 20 MPH ON THURSDAY WITH GUSTS AROUND 30 MPH AND NORTHWEST AT 10 TO 20 MPH ON THURSDAY NIGHT.
* TIMING...SNOW WILL SPREAD INTO OUR REGION FROM THE SOUTH THIS EVENING BETWEEN 700 PM AND 1100 PM. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE NIGHT AND INTO THURSDAY MORNING. THE SNOW IS FORECAST TO MIX WITH SLEET AND RAIN ON THURSDAY MORNING AND THE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO CHANGE TO RAIN FOR A TIME DURING THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE RAIN IS ANTICIPATED TO TRANSITION BACK TO A WINTRY MIX ON THURSDAY NIGHT.
* IMPACTS...TRAVEL WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS AS ROADS BECOME COVERED WITH SNOW AND SLEET. THE SNOW WILL BE WET AND HEAVY AND IT WILL LIKELY BRING DOWN TREE LIMBS AND UTILITY LINES RESULTING IN WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THIS WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS THAT SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOWAND SLEET ARE EXPECTED. TRAVEL WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS. WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE.
